Update: September 2020
Dear Students, Families and Friends,
Following a challenging year for us all, I hope you’re all safe and well, and managing to adjust to all the recent changes. I have purposefully not bombarded you all with ‘updates’ during these months, as it was clear that the situation in the UK and around the world was going to remain for some time.
However, now that the UK schools are reopening and many of you have been asking about music lessons again, it’s time to gradually start to reopen. The date we plan to start teaching at the music school again is Monday 7th September 2020, and I will be contacting people this week to start bookings. There will of course be extra measures in place. We will be ensuring we have your contact details and permission for the test and trace scheme, which in most cases is already the case. Teachers and students will be wearing face masks and visors for now (please check for exceptions), and hand gel will be used by everyone before and after lessons. Instruments will also be cleaned between students. There will be gaps between students to limit personal contact, and online lessons will continue to be available.
Hopefully this will start to bring us back to normal service, but please remain vigilant and remember that everyone’s health and wellbeing remain of paramount importance. Although I will be contacting existing students, feel free to contact me too and hopefully we can fit everyone back in to suitable time slots.
